Conisborough Excursion
The scholars attending the Church Sunday school at Conisborough, and the Wesleyan Sunday school at Denaby, had a most enjoyable trip to Cleethorpes on Monday.
The train started from Conisborough at 7.30, and there were 1,300 passengers.
At Cleethorpes, the church scholars were provided with an excellent tea, supplied by Mr. George Hawksworth, at 3 o’clock.
The Sunday school teachers had their tea at 4 p.m.
An unfortunate accident happened to one of the church choir boys, named Joseph Brown, by being thrown violently off a Galloway pony, and sustaining injury to his head.
Mr. Greathead, one of the school teachers, looked after him, and before he returned home he was able to enjoy himself with his other companions.
The train arrangements were in the hands of Mr. Harold Booth.
Perhaps, however, two trains would be found more convenient next year.
