Robbing an Old Man at Conisborough
John Hepworth (22), labourer, and Henry Taylor (28), labourer, were indicted for robbing William Cotton, of Conisborough, at that place on the 8th May.
Prosecutor, who is an old man, was crossing a field when he was knocked down by Taylor, and roughly handled by both prisoners.
When he got up he missed half a crown that he had in his pocket.
Both prisoners were found guilty, and were sentenced each to one month’s hard labour.
