At Rotherham. The visitors immediately advanced, Ryan scoring from a corner in five minutes. Thirty minutes from the start Taylor equalised in a scrimmage with a good shot. Both sides played up, but Rotherham displayed the best tactics.
Eight minutes after the interval Pyle, with a third attempt, scored a second goal for Rotherham. Towards the finish they tried hard to increase their majority, and Denaby also strove to equalise, but their exertions were futile.
