A Case from Conisborough

Mark Gleaden, a Conisboro’ labourer, was summoned by Henry Guest, for damaging grass at Conisboro’, on the 14th April.

Defendant’s wife appeared.

Charles Guest, son of the complainant, said on the 14th April he saw the defendant crossing a field belonging to his father. Witness followed him home, and defendant admitted having been across the field. The defendant had gone across the field three days together.

Arthur Dugworth, a boy, gave similar evidence.

The Chairman said the complainant had failed to prove the damage, and the case would be dismissed.
