Gruesome Find

Thomas Clark (64), of Marchgate, Conisborough, an unemployed miner, made the discovery on Wednesday of a male child’s body in a hedge bottom, at a point about 150 yards from the Sheffield-Doncaster main road.

The body was wrapped in sacking and had the appearance of having been dragged about by dogs, and of having been burnt.

The child was apparently only a few hours old.
