Street Trading.

A Conisborough newsagent, Albert Edward Stones, was fined 10s. at Doncaster on Saturday for having employed in street trading a boy under 16 years of age.

Mr. R. C. Linney (prosecuting) said the Young Person’s Act of 1933 made it illegal for anyone under 16 to be employed in street trading.

At 7-20 p.m. on March 3rd P.C. Ambler saw a 15-year-old boy employed by the defendant selling evening newspapers in the street.

Stones pleaded ignorance of the Act.
