A letter of commendation from the Chairman of the British Electricity Authority, Lord Citrine, complimenting him on his act in rescuing a seven-years-old boy from drowning at Mexborough, is presented to Mr. James Edward Downing, of Denaby, by the Yorkshire Divisional Controller, Mr. G. A. Bowles.
The picture was taken on Tuesday by a B.E.A. photographer in the canteen at Mexborough Power Station, where Mr. Downing works, and is reproduced by courtesy of the Authority.
