Marriage Breaks a Capital Conisbro’ Players’ Record
“Love and Marriage” is not exactly a hit tune any more with members of Conisbrough St. Peter’s Players. On the contrary, it looks as though it has brought disaster to what was once a little thriving Parish Church amateur dramatic group.
For years the little group has strived to provide Conisbrough with its only “live” entertainment. All down the line, it has been a long hard struggle against dwindling membership. As a result, St. Peter’s Players were only able to provide one production a year . . . but they never missed. Last year they staged an excellent production of “Sit Down a Minute, Adrian,” but this year, for the first time since 1945, they have been unable to get together sufficient members to stage their annual production.
