Presentation to Rev. Jesse Wilson
We are informed that the officials of the Yorkshire Miners’ Association intend to mark their appreciation of the Rev. Jesse Wilson’s arduous and philanthropic labour during the recent Denaby strike by the presentation of a handsome testimonial.
There can be no doubt the rev. gentleman deserves any such token of gratitude as may be given, for if ever a man devoted himself to the cause of suffering humanity, it was the Primitive Methodist minister, during those trying and terrible months.
Literally, he fed the hungry and clothed the naked, and he taught many who had never perhaps realised it before, the truth, it is more blessed to give than to receive. The Rev. Jesse Wilson, during the strike, behaved like a brick, and it would be hard if his labours go forgotten.
