Breach of the Swine Movement Order

A farmer, of Denaby, named Walter John Robinson, was summoned for committing a breach of the Swine Movement Order.

P.C. Richardson stated that on Thursday, the 19th ult., at 3-40 p.m., he visited the defendant’s farm at Old Denaby, and saw five store pigs.

Defendant said they had come from Finningley, and witness asked him if he had delivered up his licence.

He said he had not, and witness pointed out to him that he ought to have delivered it up within 48 hours.

Defendant pleaded ignorance, and regretted the occurrence.

He was fined 10s., inclusive of the costs.

Damage at Denaby

Oswald Dawson, labourer, Joseph Cotterill, miner, Benj. Scott, joiner, Herbert Broom, shoemaker, and John Bentley, miner, of New Conisboro’, were summoned for damaging growing oats at Denaby on the 29th May.

P.C. Ransom proved the case. He and P.C. Taylor saw the defendants go down a field of growing oats.

Mr. Robinson, farmer, estimated the nominal damage at 3d. each.

Defendants did not appear, and they were fined 10s., inclusive of costs and damage.
