Bad Attenders
On three summonses for absenting himself from essential work at Cadeby Colliery, Joseph W. Tweed, miner, of Conisborough, was at Doncaster on Wednesday fined a total of £15.
Mr. W. L. Crawford, prosecuting, said Tweed was alleged to have been absent from March 17–22. He injured his thumb while at work in December but did not visit the compensation doctor. Mr. Dunn, for Tweed, said his client reported the accident but did not draw compensation because he was drawing £8 a week as a club steward.
David Burton (25), underground mechanic, of Conisborough, summoned in respect of absences on three dates from Denaby Colliery, was fined a total of £15.
