Prisoner of War
Gunner Wilfred Barnett, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Barnett, of 81, Annerley Street, Denaby Main, is now reported a prisoner of war in the hands of the Japanese.
Gunner Barnett was attached to the Royal Artillery and joined up in 1940. He was reported missing on February 15th, 1942, along with Gunner Elwell, of 35, Annerley Street, Denaby Main, with whom he was friendly.
Before enlistment Gunner Barnett was employed at Denaby Colliery.
