Met In Middle East
Here are two Conisbrough men who have had the good luck to meet in the Middle East. They are Sergt. Lindsey Bell and Gnr. Barron Hartley.
On June 7th, 1941, they were both married at the New Hill Methodist Church, Conisbrough, and their wives both work at the same factory. Sergt. Lindsey Bell married Miss Nancy Blackburn and Gnr. Barron Hartley married Miss Connie Townend.
The soldiers’ second meeting was on February 7th, 1943. Sergt. Bell has met his brother-in-law, D. Booth, and E. Barker, also of Conisbrough, and some of his pals, while Gnr. Hartley has met Frank Neale, Leading Stoker Joe Hunt also of Conisbrough, and great times were spent during the re-unions, all the soldiers mentioned send their very best wishes to all friends in Conisbrough.
