Different Tale at Nottingham
Sad Reversal of Form by Denaby United
Denaby United “fans” were sadly disillusioned this week. After having cruised to an easy victory over Kimberley Town in the Central Alliance League Cup, Denaby visited Kimberley on Saturday—and lost 7-3.
United, unchanged for the League meeting, retained only a shadow of the form they had shown the previous week.
They attacked confidently at the start, forcing two corners without success, but in the 10th minute Kimberley grabbed a confidence-shattering goal.
United keeper Davey, who, seconds earlier, had saved from point-blank range, slipped taking his goal-kick and Langham nipped in for a gift goal. By the 35th minute E. Langham and T. Langham had put Kimberley further ahead.
Outside-left Gee, Walker, sparkplug of the Denaby attack since he made his debut a few weeks ago, reduced the arrears five minutes from the interval.
There was no holding Kimberley at the re-start. E. Langham took his third goal, and Disney, Evans, and Baker piled up a formidable score before Spencer and Dodds for Denaby.
