Big Match at Denaby.
On Thursday next, the 21st inst., a team representing Derby County will visit the Denaby ground to play an eleven of Denaby and District.
The visiting team will be selected from Dr. E. M. Ashcroft, C. J. Carvengen, C. A. Allvienne, T. Forrester, G. A. Marples, W. Storer, J. Humphries, W. Bestwick, A. R. Warren, A. Morton, G. Cadman, S. Webster, and F. Needham.
The Denaby and District side will be chosen from C. Bury, P. Bury, L. Robinson, A. Robinson, P. Knowles, G. Hardy, W. Scott, J. Barker, W. Smith, and F. Butler (Denaby), W. Nicholeon and W. P. Turner (Mexboro’), C. F. Power (Wath), A. Jagger (Mitchell Main), F. Turner (Swinton).
Unfortunately, there will be only one day’s play, for such a match ought at least to extend to two days
