Wedding at Conisborough

The wedding took place at St. Peter’s, Conisborough, on Monday, of Miss Hilda May Black, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Black, 70, Doncaster Road, Mexborough, and Mr. Tom Shelton, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Shelton, 66, Old Road, Conisborough.

The Rev. W. J. T. Pascoe officiated.

The bride was given away by her brother, Mr. William Black, and wore ivory satin beauté, and carried cream roses.

She was attended by Misses Gladys Black and Hilda Goldthorpe in floral ninon; and Mary and Ena Black in pink crepe and blue angelskin respectively. They carried carnations. Their gifts from the bridegroom were necklaces.

A reception was held in the West Street Hall, Mexborough, the bride’s mother wearing navy blue silk lace, and the bridegroom’s mother georgette and primrose ring velvet.

Among many gifts was an eiderdown from the nursing staff of The Grange, Kimberworth, of which the bride was formerly a member.
