An epidemic of whooping cough is prevalent at Mexboro’ in certain quarters of the town.
A raid was made by the police on the Swinton Working Man’s Club on Saturday night.
The Rev. P. Duckworth, of Swinton, was married on Thursday week at St. James’ Church, Lower Darwen. His many friends offer him and his bride their hearty congratulations.

Mr. Henry Peters Tyler, of Cossington Hall, Leicester, founder and head of the well-known boot and shoe business of H. P. Tyler, which has over 100 branches in various towns, died at Seaford on Tuesday afternoon. He was 92 years of age.
A garden party will be held at Claysfield House, Mexboro’, on Thursday, July 21st, promoted by Mr. J. H. Watson in aid of the funds of the Mexboro’ Congregational Church.

P. Hague inspected the “Mexborough Times” premises last Saturday morning at 3-30 a.m. and found all safe. At 5 a.m. the premises were fully ablaze.
A Denaby boy barely escaped drowning at the Pastures on Monday evening. Two other boys, who happened to be near, rescued him.
