Notable Mexborough Capture
Former Denaby All-Rounder
Mexboro’ Athletic have made a notable capture in securing the signature of Charlie Mountney, who was last season with Stalybridge, but will be better remembered as the former Denaby United player.
A powerful and tireless, Mountney first played for Denaby as a centre-half, later gave valuable service as a wing half, and was ultimately turned into one of the best full-backs in the Midland League. Mountney’s physique and strong kicking with either foot make him a bulwark in any defence, and as a utility player he should be a distinct acquisition to Mexboro’.
Amos Hill, an outside-left who was last season with Goldthorpe United, has also signed for Mexboro’. Hill stands 5ft. 9½ins. and weighs 10½st.
