Fullerton Hospital Cup

The annual race for the Fullerton Hospital Cup and Gold Medal, organised by fanciers of Denaby and Conisborough, was flown from Leicester (60 miles) on Saturday, but only 40 birds took part. The cup is presented by the Hospital Committee and the gold medal is given by the Hospital Demonstration Committee and the organisers thank the following for “specials”: Hospital Committee (2), Messrs. Burdett, H. Kirby, S. Taylor (secretary South Yorkshire Federation), W. Milner, J. Moorhouse and F. Palmer. P. Shaw, one of the competitors is a schoolboy.

A feature of the race was the close finish. The winner of the cup and medal was C. Hawley, of Maltby, with a velocity of 1025.9 yards per minute and he also won the two chief pools. G. Hanson, of Conisborough, winner of last year’s event, came in second and won three pools and two second pools. Returns:—
