Denaby Main Rifle Club.
The third annual prize shooting and competition for the Kilner Challenge Cup took place at the club’s miniature range, at Conisboro’, on Saturday last. Several valuable prizes had been generously given by ladies and gentlemen of the neighbourhood, in addition to those provided by the committee, and there was a very good attendance of members, and a very keen competition for places in the prize list. The conditions were seven shots at 20, 30, and 60 yards, and the following were the prize-winners:—
1, Mr. A. H. Barnard, 92 points, the cup and case of silver spoons, given by Mrs. H. E. Wragg.
2, Mr. T. French, 91 points, cruet stand.
3, Mr. H. S. Witty, 91 points, meerschaum pipe, given by Mr. Geo. White.
4, Mr. T. Carnelly, 88 points, salad bowl.
5, Mr. Hulme, 88 points, case hair brushes, given by Mr. and Mrs. Gibbs.
6, Mr. H. Rose, 85 points, sugar basin, given by Mr. Gichard.
7, Mr. A. Brock, 85 points, box of cigars, given by Mr. Weston.
8, Mr. S. Ellis, 84 points, cigar case.
9, Mr. Jesse Hill, 81 points, boots, given by Mr. E. Worrall.
10, Mr. E. Harrison, 80 points, silver match box.
Tyro prizes:—Mr. R. S. Walters, 79 points, case of carvers; Mr. W. Wilson, 76, egg stand; Mr. T. Bentley, 74, walking stick, given by Mrs. A. H. Barnard; Mr. George West, 73, silver pencil case.
An extra competition fora silver spoon, at 100 yards, 7 shots, was won by Mr. E. Harrison, with 31 points. At the conclusion of the meeting, the prizes were presented by Mr. W. H. Chambers, the president of the club.
