Denaby Cricket Festival

Cricket enthusiasts in the Denaby area are to have a real cricket festival during the holiday week at the two local collieries.  The Denaby and Cadeby Cricket Club Committee have been busy arranging an attractive programme at Tickhill square, when all the proceeds are to be devoted to the Red Cross Society.

The “week” commences on Sunday, August 10th, the first Sunday game to be played in the locality when Lieut. Sale the Oxford Blue, who assists Denaby, will bring a strong eleven to oppose a similar one from the R.A.F.

Other fixtures are:

Monday, Conisborough C.C.;
Tuesday, The “Locusts” v R. Birkinshaw’s XI;
Wednesday, Denaby Colliery v Cadeby Colliery;
Thursday, Denaby and Cadeby v Hickleton.
