A Costly Spree

James Davis, miner, Denaby was charged with being drunk and disorderly at Conisbrough on January 25.

He was also charged with refusing to quit the Eagle and Child Inn, Conisbrough and further charged with assaulting Samuel Humphreys.

The defendant went into the Eagle and Child in a drunken condition and was told to leave. He refused, and the police were sent for. Humphreys helped to put him out and was kicked by the defendant and struck in the face.

Fined 10 shillings and costs for drunkenness, 40 shillings including costs for refusing to quit and 40 shillings including costs for the assault.
