Denaby Main on Saturday followed up their brilliant victory over Bently with one still more solid and convincing. They had as visitors, Bullcroft, who furnished the most exciting game of the Denaby home Programme last year, when Denaby won by four runs.

Saturdays match was played in delightful weather and produced plenty of interesting but not outstanding cricket. The only element of sensational was furnished by Ernest Gibbs, a youngster from the second team, who was brought in on the strength of a fine bowling performance against Bentley Reserve last Saturday.

Curiously enough, however, he was not called upon until Bullcroft stood at 137 for 6. He then went on at the football end, and finished off the innings in 16 balls, taking four wickets for four runs two of his victims being brilliantly taken in the slips by Shoosmith and the other two clean balled.

The catch with which Shoosmith dismissed Tom Wass, the old Notts county bowler, was an electric one.
