20 Years At Colliery.

Cadeby Main Under-Manager to Retire.

After being in the service of the Denaby and Cadeby Colliery Company for 20 years, Mr. Walter Wilkinson, of Buckingham Road, Conisborough, retires end of this month and is going to live at Bridlington.

For the last seventeen years he has held the position of under-manager at Cadeby Main.

In the social side of his career he was the Vicar’s warden All Saints’ Church, a member of the Parochial Council, and a member of the choir. He played great part in obtaining a suitable site for the Mission Hall, which is being erected by voluntary labour, and he has often assisted in the work.

Mr. Wilkinson is Corps Superintendent of the Cadeby Division of the 5th St. John Ambulance Brigade. He is also the hon. treasurer of the Denaby and Cadeby Cricket Club and of the newly-formed Denaby United Supporters’ Club.

Colliery Official Leaving.

Mr Walter Wilkinson, under-manager at Cadeby colliery, is about to relinquish his post, and next week will move to Bridlington.

He has held the post for about 17 years and has lived in Denaby nearly thirty years, for over 20 years in the service of Denaby and Cadeby Collieries.

He has taken a keen interest in all forms of sport. He is also a member of the choir of Denaby Parish Church, secretary of the Church Council, and a churchwarden.

Mrs. Wilkinson is a member of the Church Council.
