After declaring with under 200 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Denaby scored a smart victory at Scarborough on Saturday by the narrow margin of 20 runs.

Probert featured prominently in the game, collectig a useful 59 before Mann claimed his wicket with a catch. Wainwright opened the innings with 31 before he was bold by Adamson, and Mountney scored 49.

Scarborough had a somewhat shaky start, but the later wickets pulled the game round to some extent. Scarborough, however, found some difficulty in getting the Denaby attack away, the last wicket fell at 176.
