United Into the “Rapids”

Bradford 1 Denaby United 3

With a programme of 17 league matches facing them in the space of 42 days – beginning with the visit of Notts County reserves to Tickhill Square tomorrow, Denaby United splendid performance in winning 3 – 1 at Bradford on Saturday came as a very heartening prelude.

News of their 3– 0 lead, established by Duggan (two) and Poulson, came over the “blower” to Tickhill Square during the Denaby reserves – Thurcroft Main, Sheffield Association league game (the reserves last home league fixture) and was equally heartening there.

With the exception of Easter Monday Denaby are at home on each Monday during April (they are also at home on Easter Tuesday) and on two of the Saturdays, so Tickhill Square supporters will be having some compensation for the long spell during the snow when the “Square” was very much the deserted village.

Incidentally, Denaby United in United supporters club hold their first joint dinner in the welfare Hall this evening (Friday).
