Entertainment at the Wesleyan Church
A very pleasant evening was spent in the Wesleyan school on Monday, when a musical entertainment was given by the choir, the object being to purchase books for the Sunday school library and in aid of the choir fun.
There was a good number present and Mr George Appleyard (senior school superintendent) occupied the chair, expressing pleasure at been able to serve the church in any possible capacity, and acknowledging the school’s indebtedness to the choir for past help, and hoped for similar help in the future.
Mr Appleyard caused some amusement by remarking that he was not much of it chair taker, although he had been a chair maker for a long time. He wished prosperity to both choir and Sunday school.
The following is the musical programme:
Mr H. J. Sharp acted as conductor and Miss Sharp as pianist. A vote of thanks was passed to the chairman, on the motion of Mr William Wilson, seconded by Mr Joseph Marsh
