Footpath Plea Firm
Says It Might Put Men On Dole

How vital is the closing of footpath in Conisborough Parks area to the continued employment of about 170 men at the works of Conisborough Cliff Company Ltd., was revealed at yesterday’s meeting of Warmsworth Parish Council.

The council had before them the question of application by the Cliff Company for closing the footpath at Butterbusk Green, between Warmsworth and Conisborough.

The Clerk (Mr. C. H. M. Glover) reported that representatives of the company had explained to him that the application to close the footpath were refused, it would mean that the company would lose about 60 yards of face, which would produce about one million tons dolomite, and the refusal might affect the employment of 170 men.

Mr. Glover stated that dolomite was important the making of steel.
