Conisboro’ Porter’s Discovery.

Harry Hinchcliffe, pony driver, of Doncaster, and Percy Charnley, pony driver, of Balby, were summoned by Arthur Hall for attempting to travel on the Great Central Railway without a ticket, at Conisboro’, on Oct. 26th.

Only Hinchcliffe appeared.

Joseph Scholes, a porter at Conisboro’, said that on Oct 26th he was collecting tickets on the 10-47 train. He found the two defendants under the seats in one of the carriages. He pulled them out, and on enquiring found they had no tickets and no money.

A woman who appeared on behalf of Charnley said the father wished her to say that the boy was out of his hands, and that he could do nothing ‘with him.

He should not pay any more fines in respect of the lad, and the Bench must deal with the boy as they thought fit.

The defendants were each fined £1 and costs.
