5 Mile Walk Proposal is Popular at Conisbrough
Nearly all the clubs and public houses in the area are interested in the proposed five-mile walk being planned by delegates of the Conisbrough and Denaby Games League.
Mrs. Mary Davies, wife of Mr. G. Davies, licensee of the Eagle and Child Hotel, who was one of the original sponsors of the event, has presented a cup for the corn-petition.
Mr Davies told our reporter this week: “We are sure now that the walk will be a success. Delegates will discuss the matter further in the near future and it is hoped to stage the event at Whitsuntide”
