500 Miners Thrown Idle.
As a result of a breakdown in the shaft, caused by the defection of the winding-rope, about 500 men have been rendered idle at the Cadeby Main Colliery.
Both cages were smashed, and the rope rendered unfit for further use, though no one was injured.
It is not anticipated that the repairs will be completed and work resumed under normal conditions until next week-end.
