Home, Sweet Home.
A Lively Evening at Denaby,
John Heeley and George Heeley Denaby miners, were fined 9s. each at Doncaster on Wednesday for using violent and abusive language on. May 4th.
Police evidence showed that at 10-45 p.m. the street in which the two defendants lived was in an uproar. A ”battle” appeared to be going on in the Heeley’s home, boots and pots being thrown into the street. All the neighbours were out and violent and abusive language could be heard plainly.
George Heeley blamed his daughter for the trouble. She had just got married and she and her husband were falling out in his home. He was knocked out by someone.
Supt. Minty: And you used some very strong language on the matter?—No sir, I only said something about a pint of beer to the the constable.
Did you not sa that you would kill your daughter, and called a certain things? – I don’t know.
John Heeley said that after the row he had to go to the Fullerton Hospital for attention and “black eyes and things. “
