Two Months for Stealing Trousers and Stockings
On Saturday, at the Doncaster West Biding Police Court, James Kelly, labourer, Denaby, was sent to prison for two months for felony.
It appeared that he had stolen a pair of trousers belonging to Mr. Fritson, pawnbroker, High street, Mexbro’, and a pair of stockings, belonging to Mr. Samuel Hart, High street, Mexbro’.
The prisoner said he was sorry that he had been drinking all the day, and did not know what he was doing.
Mr. Yarborough, the chairman, said it was a most scandalous thing that shop- keepers should not be able to hang things outside their premises without having them stolen.
