Bentley Veterans Again.
Bower and Chambers Busy at Denaby.
Denaby and Cadeby 113 Bentley 115 for 5
Those two stalwarts of Bentley, Joe Bower and G. H. Chambers, tied up the Denaby batsmen at Tickhill Square and bowled unchanged to dismiss the side in an hour and a half for 113 runs.
Downing alone held up the two for a spell; and Reg. Probert alone showed them the way out of the held. He hit two consecutive balls from Chambers into the tennis courts.
The Denaby attack was weak and Wathey was not tried, though two slow bowlers had done all the damage in the first innings of the match. Bentley soon hit off the arrears and won by 5 wickets. Bower and Chambers each bowled 19 overs for Bentley, and Bower’s return was 5 wickets for 37 runs. Chambers took the others 5 for 71.
