Wedding – Smethurst & Ward

At the Conisboro’ Wesleyan Church yesterday, Miss Gwendoline Kilner Smethurst, of Conisboro’, was married to Dr. Robert Livesley Ward, M.B., Ch.B., the ceremony attracting a great deal of interest in the Conisboro’ and Denaby district.
Miss Smethurst is the daughter of Mr. H. L. Smethurst, architect to the Denaby and Cadeby Colliery Co., and of Mrs. Smethurst, The Bungalow, Conisboro’, and the bridegroom is the younger son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Ward, of Ashfield Road, Doncaster.

The Rev. A. Gregory, MA., of Langley, near Macclesfield, and the Rev. D. Williams, Wesleyan minister, of Conisboro’, were the officiating clergy, and the service was fully choral.

The bride looked charming in a beautiful gown of ivory fish net over ivory satin, with a tight-fitting corsage and full skirt hanging in graceful folds to her feet, long, tight sleeves of net, and a becoming net cape from the shoulders. The skirt and the edge of the cape were trimmed with tiny clusters of appliqued flowers in pale pink velvet.
