A Trivial Case from Conisborough

Charles Perkins, Conisborough, was summoned by Emma Jane Beckitt, aged 13 years, for an assault alleged to have been committed at Conisborough in July 31.

The complainant said she was stood at the end of the house where she lived. Another girl hit her and she hit back, whereupon the defendant, a grown-up youth, struck her in the face, and thumped her in the stomach.

A boy named Matthew Ross said the complainant was quarrelling with another girl, named Mary Ann Booth, whom she struck. The defendant then ate the complainant in the eye.

The case was dismissed.
