Denaby Man gave a Wrong Name

A Denaby shunter, named William Sharpe was summoned for having ridden a bicycle on the footpath at Bentley, on the 25th October.

The case was proved by police sergeant Drury, who said the defendant first gave him the name of Smith, Adwick le  Street but the officer threatened to detain him, and he then gave what proved to be his correct name and address.

He was fined 10 shillings and the costs.
