Sheffield Association League
Monk Bretton 6 Denaby United 0
At Monk Bretton. Both teams were well represented.
Monk Bretton pressed, and in scrimmage Wall collided with the visitors’ custodian, and had to leave the field. Although playing with a man short the home team monopolised the play, and in the end the score was:—Monk Bretton, 6 goals; Denaby United, 0 goal.
Wath 1 Wombwell 4
At Wath. Wombwell once attacked, gaining a corner, which proved futile. End to end play followed, and then a fine pass by Hunter saw Wath press, the Wombwell goalkeeper saving finely. Wath hereabouts were playing a good game, but the Wombwell defence held out, and at half-time there was no score.
During the second half, Wombwell played the home team down, goals being scored by Golsbro’ (two), Smith, and Uttley.
Result: Wombwell 4 goals; Wath, 1 goal.
