Denaby United 2 Scunthorpe 2
Scunthorpe played very attractive football at Denaby, and deserved to draw 2 – 2. They got a goal after 25 minutes, when Taylor attempted to pass back to his own goalkeeper, but Sharman diverted the ball to Elding, who scored.
For some minutes the second half Denaby set up a bombardment, could not get the ball into the net, for Bromage was very safe.
Smith scored Scunthorpe second goal, but Skeels heartened Denaby when he scored with a cross shot in the end, and Mountney brought the scores level from a penalty for hands.
Cross was a very fine back Scunthorpe, and Skeels was Denaby’s best forward.
