Drunk and Disorderly at Mexboro’

Gregory, collier, Denaby, was charged with being drank and disorderly at Mexboro’, on the 25th inst.

P.c. Cade, deposed that at 11 p.m. on the day in question, he was on duty in Doncaster-road, Mexboro. and saw the defendant drunk and creating a great disturbance by shouting and swearing. Told him to go home and hold his noise. He went a little way and then stopped. Eventually, witness in company with Inspector Beevers went to him. He was noisy all the way to Denaby.

Defendant did not appear, but was represented by his wife, who said he had certainly had too beer. They had had no money for 8 weeks.

The chairman : That does not signify, you must pay 10s. and 16s. eosts.

The woman : We haveno money to pay with.

The chairman : I cannot help that; it appears he has money to drink with. He must pay, or have one months imprisonment.
