Clowns 56 Australians 64
This match, which was for a supper for forty, was played between the above teams of the Conisbro’ Castle Clowns’ club, on Saturday last, and ended in favour of the Australians by 8 runs.
The match was played in the Castle Yard in the presence of about 500 spectators, and in the evening an excellent supper was provided by Mr. Richard Crowcroft, of the Three Horse Shoes Inn, to which about 40 members of the club sat down. The supper was excellent, and the company enjoyed themselves until a late hour in the evening with singing, recitations, &c.
The Clowns were dressed in costume, and much praise is due to E. Hallam, H. Wilson, L. Hunter, and G. Hunter for the excellence of their attire.
