A Conisborough Girl and a Neighbours Cash Box

A young woman named Ada Hanson, aged 16, was charged, on a warrant, with having stolen £1 10s belonging to William Kaye of Conisborough.

The prisoner had been summoned to appear on Saturday, but as she failed to answer to her name a warrant was issued, and she was apprehended.

It appears that she lives near the prosecutor, and that recently, while the latter was out of the house, she went in and abstracted 39 shillings from a money box. When the theft was discovered she was a suspect of having taken the money.

When accused, she at first stoutly denied the charge, but she subsequently produced a cash and acknowledged their guilt.

The case was adjourned.
