A Conisbrough Firm Summoned
Messrs. William Wilson and Co., saw millers of Conisbrough were summoned, at the instance of Commander Smith, for not reporting an accident in their workplace at Conisborough, on the 5th of January.
Defendant pleaded guilty.
Prosecutor said that the firm were summoned under the Factory and Aorkshops Act
A boy named Arthur Nicholson, was working at the place on the day in question, when he had his hand cut by a circular so, which kept him off duty three or four weeks. The defendants did not report the occurrence, and so these proceedings were taken.
He did not think there was any attempt to evade the law in all way.
The Bench thought that it was not a serious offence, and as the case was not pressed, they would only have to pay the costs.
