A Denaby Deserter
Arthur Guest was in custody. having been apprehended by police constable Barnett in Blyth Street, New Conisbrough, as a deserter from the third Battalion York and Lancaster militia.
Prisoner said he could not leave his wife and child or he would have gone back to Pontefract.
Prisoner was remanded to await an escort.
