“A Good Time” At Mexboro’

George Henry Jones, miner, Mexborough, and Wilfred Pass, miner, Denaby, were fined 12s. each at Doncaster on Tuesday for being drunk and disorderly in High Street, Mexborough, on February 27th.

P.c.’s Lofthouse and Ancock said the men were shouting, making themselves a nuisance, and jostling people off the footpath.

Both men said they were having a good time that night. It was the first drink they had ever had.

When the fine was imposed, Jones said he received only a week’s spending money.

The Chairman: You will have to forego pictures and that sort of thing for a month.
