A Long, Long Trail
To do a 1,000 miles trek “somewhere in England” without a shilling between them will be the experience of eleven students from Cliff College.
The party will be in the charge of Mr. Horace Darley, Conan Road, Conisbrough. They started out on Tuesday when a dedication service was held, then the “trek” started out for Doveholes, New Mills, Ancoats, Wigan and Southport.
At Southport they will be met by four other parties who are attending the Southport Convention, June 30th to July 5th. At the end of the convention all the parties will set out for all parts of the country. One will go into Scotland, another to Cardiff, two to Southampton and one to London.
The “Pioneer” party will wander through Wales and down to Southampton and in every village and hamlet will halt and hold a service.
Mr. Darley was formerly employed at Cadeby Main Colliery.
