A New Quarry at Denaby

The owners of the old quarry near the Doncaster road, Mexbro’, are commencing the working of a similar one on the other side of the ferry at Old Denaby.

Much of the stone now dug out of the old quarry is so hard, by reason of the iron it contains, that it is too expensive to ” work,” whereas the production from the hill opposite is of the exact quality required.

On account of the formation of the hillside, the quarry can be utilised at comparatively little cost, and the stone is found in abundance.
