A Noisy Hawker.

For having caused annoyance by shouting while hawking, Frank Dunn, hawker, Rotherham , was fined at Doncaster on Tuesday.

John Scott, mineworker, Clifton Street, Denaby, said he I was trying to get sleep on the afternoon of September 24th as he was on the night-shift. Dunn came along with his dray and kept “bawling at the top of his voice. Witness made complaint to the police.

Pc. Waugh said he had received numerous complaints against this class of offence at Denaby and had had a complaint from Conisborough Urban Council.

Defendant admitted shouting but pleaded ignorance of the byelaws prohibiting it.
