A Record Parade

Photographs of the annual inspection of the south-western area of the No. 5 District, St. John Ambulance Brigade, on the Doncaster Racecourse last Sunday afternoon.

Upper left: County Surgeon J. J. Huey, of Mexborough, who at the Commissioner’s request, assisted In the Inspection.

Upper right: Mrs. Kirby, of the Denaby Nursing Division, the oldest woman on parade, and her daughter, Mrs. Dickens of the Goole Nursing Division. Note the old lady’s wonderful array of bars.

Lower: The march past, headed by Corps. Supt. Still, of Denaby, with Commissioner Malkin taking the salute. Assistant Commissioners Hulley and Else are standing behind the Commissioner. There were over 1,500 men and women on parade, the largest muster since the annual inspection was instituted.
