A Weird Road.
The West Riding County Council ought to be told—about many things but in particular about the weird condition of the road from the Mexboro’ Toll Bar to the level crossing at Denaby Main.
I believe this particular stretch has been cut off by the recent creation of an urban district of Conisboro’ and Denaby, and is a kind of ‘No Man’s Land.’ though still in the administrative area of the Doncaster Rural District Council.
Nevertheless, it is part of an important main road of the secondary class, the Doncaster and Tinsley branch road and subject to heavy and continuous traffic, especially since the introduction of the new ‘bus service to Doncaster.
It is in a far worse condition than any civilised road that ever I saw. It is indented all over with potholes which have become caverns, ruinous to vehicles and perilous to those who travel in them. It is extraordinary it this shocking road has escaped the notice of the local highway staff of the County Council.
